This evening the HRCAV have advised further measures and restrictions to help limit the spread of COVID 19 (Coronavirus) and to safeguard its members, friends, family and communities. HRCAV have requested that all club activities are suspended.
HDARC committee have agreed that all organized rallies, events and clinics (group lessons) will be cancelled and unable to run at our club grounds. The club rooms are locked and are not to be used.
Jenny Sheppard’s lessons will finish in the afternoon tomorrow (Tuesday). Wednesday rally has been cancelled.
HRCAV and the HDARC committee understand that members will still be working their horses and need access to safe facilities. For now, committee are comfortable for members to use the club grounds for their own private use, however the following procedure and rules apply.
In order to use the grounds, HRCAV have requested that bookings need to be made through the Club. This is necessary to ensure that booking times are staggered to limit numbers at the grounds. Our committee member Lisa Embling will be managing the bookings. If you wish to ride at the club grounds, please email or text Lisa – firstname.lastname@example.org 0408 391 541 before 9.00 p.m. the day before you wish to ride. You must receive a reply that you are able to ride from Lisa before you proceed to the grounds. Lisa will be keeping a list of riders and times for each day and ensure that numbers stay at an acceptable level for safety.
In addition to this the following precautions need to be adhered to:
- Members feeling unwell, or showing symptoms such as runny nose, fever, cough, sore throat or breathing difficulties must not come to the grounds; equally anyone who suspects that they may have been exposed to the virus;
- Social distancing – avoid close social contact, keeping the preferred social distance of 1.5 metres away from each other;
- The toilet cannot be used;
- Please ride and leave – don’t stay around to chat, reducing social contact to a minimum and thereby keeping numbers at the grounds to a minimum;
- No handling of equipment or facilities – horses must be tied to floats and do not use the yards;
It would be a good idea to wear gloves to open the lock and the gates as these things are touched by many people daily. This also applies to the wash bay tap, in fact anything that is touched by others. We are all responsible for taking care of our own health, so please be mindful of all of the above.
It would be a good idea to carry sanitizer (if you have some) in your car or float and use it if you do accidentally touch public things at club.
The situation changes from day to day and further limits might be set. This decision may be revised if the above limitations are not seen as being met or being broken by members.
We are really lucky that we can still enjoy our hobby/sport whilst others cannot. Let’s keep it this way by all doing the right thing. We all have a responsibility to help minimise the outbreak as best we can. Should you have any queries on what is acceptable, or just have a question please contact myself or a committee member.
